CARE:
Gold filled is a more affordable alternative to solid gold. It's suitable for daily wear, will not tarnish or wear away and can last 10 to 30 years with proper care. Use a soft jewellery polishing cloth to clean.
Gold vermeil is sterling silver plated with 14/18ct gold. To lengthen the lifespan of the gold plating please do not shower, swim or wear when exercising. The gold plating will wear off over time especially if in regular contact with body lotions, perfumes or hairspray. You can return your product/s once within a period of 2 years for a gold vermeil refresh subject to our terms and conditions. Please do not clean with jewellery cleaner or any abrasive materials, only a soft lint free cloth.
Sterling 925 Silver will naturally oxidize when left in the open. Use a silver polishing cloth to clean and refresh any silver elements.
Silk Tassels can become a little fuzzy over time. To refresh your tassel you can gently place it under running water, pat dry and then leave to dry on a flat surface. Please be mindful that wood and seed beads should not come into contact with water.
CLEANSING:
Cleansing your mala bead necklace is important for maintaining its spiritual energy and keeping it refreshed. Here are a few methods you can use to cleanse your mala beads:
Smoke Cleansing/Smudging: Pass the mala beads through the smoke of burning sage or palo santo Allow the smoke to surround and penetrate the beads, cleansing them of any unwanted negative energy.
Moonlight: Leave the mala beads overnight to bathe in the light of the full moon. Moonlight is believed to have purifying and energizing properties that can cleanse the beads.
Salt Cleansing: Bury the mala beads, in a cotton, in a bowl of sea salt or Himalayan salt for at least 24 hours. The salt will absorb any negative energy from the beads.
Sound Cleansing: Use sound vibrations to cleanse the mala beads. You can do this by ringing a singing bowl, using a tuning fork, playing a sacred mantra or chant while holding your mala beads.
Visualization: Hold the mala beads in your hands and visualize them being surrounded by a bright white light. Imagine this light cleansing away any negative energy and filling the beads with positive energy.
Sunlight: Place the mala beads in direct sunlight for a couple of hours. The sunlight will help to clear away any stagnant energy and recharge the beads with positive energy.
Please note not all crystal malas are suitable to cleanse and recharge with sunlight, some can be damaged or fade when exposed to prolonged sunlight. Here are some examples of crystals that should not be left in the sun for extended periods:
Amethyst: Sunlight can cause amethyst to fade over time, especially if it's exposed to direct sunlight for too long.
Amber: Amber can become brittle and lose its color when exposed to prolonged sunlight.
Aquamarine: Sunlight may cause aquamarine to lose its color or become paler.
Celestite: Celestite is a delicate crystal that can become brittle and lose its color when exposed to sunlight.
Fluorite: Certain colors of fluorite, especially the purple variety, may fade when exposed to sunlight.
Kunzite: Kunzite is sensitive to sunlight and can fade or lose its color when exposed to UV rays.
Rose Quartz: While it's generally safe to place rose quartz in sunlight briefly, prolonged exposure may cause it to lose its pink coloration.
Turquoise: Sunlight can cause turquoise to become discolored or change its hue.
Choose whichever method resonates with you the most and cleanse your mala beads regularly to keep them spiritually pure and energetically charged.
